Planning For School Expenses
Students are required to purchase designated book, supplies,
tools and uniforms as assigned by the instructor in each course. Most
programs specify tools and/or uniforms that are characteristic of the
occupation for which the student is enrolled. Many of these materials
can be purchased at the MTI Bookstore. Refer to the MTI
Estimated Costs brochure for more detailed information.
Many
items will be available for purchase during the summer months before
the beginning of the fall term. The Bookstore has copies of each program's
required texts, software, tools, and other items. Simply bring in your
course schedule or talk to the Bookstore manager about items you will
need.
Students need to prepare for some initial expenses at the start of
the term. Books, supplies, and tools will be required for all classes.
The MTI Bookstore does not allow advances or charging of items
(except with a credit card). Financial aid loans are not available
to first- time borrowers until the 30th day of the term. Please budget
accordingly when making your school plans.
Bookstore Refund Policy
Students may return books to the Bookstore for a full refund within
first two weeks of the semster(drop/add period) in the original condition. A refund of 50% will
be given to students who return books from the third week until the
last day to withdraw (mid-term) if in resalable condition. After that, refunds will not be available.
Book Buy Back
The Bookstore holds a book buy back the final week of each semester.
Students may sell selected used texts back to the Bookstore. A list
of eligible texts is available from the Bookstore manager.
Items Available
A full selection of required textbooks, software packages, kits, and
other items required for MTI classes is available.
